Story
The story begins with the main character, an archaeologist, who is on an expedition to explore ancient ruins. In the middle of her excavations, she discovers a mysterious object glowing on the ground: a fragment of an amulet. Upon touching it, she is transported to another time period: the future.
The archaeologist then finds herself in an abandoned laboratory and discovers that the amulet she found has incredible properties, such as the power to transport anyone who touches it through time, as well as the ability to freeze the flow of time for a brief period. She also learns that, in order to return to the present, she must find the remaining 3 pieces of the amulet scattered across different eras.
It’s up to you to help the archaeologist find the remaining fragments and return home. But where could they be?

Development
Pieces of Time was my first 3D game, created in the first semester of 2019. This time, our challenge was to create a completely 3D game in any genre we wanted. My partner and I chose the platformer genre.
All the modeling and animations were done using Blender 3D, and we wanted to explore what we could do with the idea of an amulet that allows time travel and also the freezing of time flow.
Thus, we aimed to create areas that were completely different from each other: a futuristic and abandoned laboratory; a vast forest with exotic plants in prehistoric times; and a huge castle full of traps in the medieval period. Each of these settings features traps and puzzles where the amulet will be essential to progress.

Being my first time working with 3D modeling and animation, there were some difficulties during development, but we succeeded in the end.
With a 6-month deadline to finish the game, we worked hard on the puzzles to ensure they were fun and also used the mechanics we designed in an intuitive way.
At the end of the first semester of 2019, we released Pieces of Time, also developed in the Unity Engine, and it’s available to play for free!
